Party for the Lonely

There are two ways to experience music. We can play it loud for everyone to hear and enjoy it together or we can put on our headphones, close ourselves off from the world and come in alone. I just wonder, sometimes, if we experience music the same way a bit too often. So how about you? How do you enjoy your music?

Anyway, the past few days have been incredibly fast-paced around here — working from one job to another, juggling paper works left and right and trying to catch a breath along the way. I could probably use a little down time myself right about now. Good thing I’ve got just found the right music for that...a sensuous rhythm and haunting aura with a gothic-soul track which is called 'Party for the Lonely'.

hint*** (you can listen to it after the fold)

Party for the Lonely - Sharon Robinson

I love this chillout track. This song uses intertwining electronica beats with soulful bass grooves and moody, jazzy textures sculpted on guitar and piano and synth. Its enrapturing blend of instrumentation provides the perfect sonic bed for her inviting, sultry voice, which evokes feelings of hope, romance and sorrow all in the same breath. Phew! (Now I need to catch my breath..)

How did you like the song? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this if you please.

What next?

Very melodic - I enjoyed it, and hadn't heard of her before! I love the sultry voice.

Music brings me back to the ground, I love cranking the headphones, and just reflecting on the day to come, or the day that's just past. It's a calming influence in my life.

Other times, I enjoy just blasting it out of the big speakers! No matter what, our house is full of music. From Stevie Ray, Savoy Brown, Oleta Adams, Nina Simone and onto Ozzy. We just love it all!

    Music heals...!

I guess it depends on the situation as to whether to share or not the music you are listening to. But, if you want to relax or contemplate by yourself and not disturb your immediate surroundings, listening with headphones on is the best way to enjoy music. That is, of course, from my own humble opinion.

I enjoyed the piece, a lot.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Chill!
